Working with Traditional and digital watercolour

Apart from poster paints, watercolours was the first paint I ever used, at the age of about 7. For years, I wasn't quite getting what I wanted out of them and moved over to acrylic paints in my teens and have been using these for my Fine Art ever since. I have picked up my watercolours a few times since then and have found my understanding of how to use them improving along with the result. I still found the idea of them quite 'unforgiving', however, if I messed up a line or added more colour before the last lot was dry, it would ruin the whole picture and I'd need to start again. Just 4 years ago, I was introduced to a programme called 'Rebelle' which simulated traditional art mediums. My favourite on this was actually watercolour with outlining with black ink and I loved the effect I was getting with it. Because I found the Wacom tablet quite difficult to use at first and I didn't have the control I was used to with a physical pencil, my style was naturally quite 'messy' but through this, I discovered my illustration style in the wishy washy colours with the sketchy black ink. Even now I have gained complete control with the Wacom tablet, my love for the style I found through it hasn't changed. Now I love using watercolour traditionally, not worrying about a line that is slightly out of place, without the need for perfection and realism, I was illustrating what I wanted to convey, not in perfect realism but in my new found fun, colourful style.
